Bloomey Down Wood is a mixed broadleaf wood providing lots of opportunities for amenity uses. Set in the woodland is a lovely area of hazel coppice carpeted with bluebells. Some clearings with ferns offer potential for camping areas and/or promoting natural regeneration. Additionaly there are areas of willow along with oak, beech and holly. Fauna include badgers, roe deer, seen on every visit, and even a resident woodcock within the woodland.

This woodland is situated in rural East Devon with Offwell as the closest village. Offwell, a small village with its own primary school and 15th century church, also has a local Woodland and Wildlife trust.

The nearest town is the pretty market town of Honiton, about 3 miles away which offers an extensive and varied range of shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels and cafes and a weekly street market. There is also Honiton golf club within a mile and a half.

The A30 and A303 pass within a short distance of the town centre and Honiton has a mainline railway station. Honiton also has excellent bus links with nearby Exeter and other local towns.

The wood is located just a short distance from East Devon's most popular beaches. This part of the coast between Lyme Regis and Exmouth encompasses Jurassic coast and World Heritage Coast.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.

Directions

Upon reaching Honiton enter the High Street and look out for a sign to the railway station about half way along. Take this turn onto New Street and continue under the railway bridge into Church Hill. At the roundabout at the top of the hill turn left. Take the first turn to the right, signposted to Northleigh.

Proceed up the hill passing Honiton Golf Club on your right hand side. Continue along the road for about one and a quarter miles and the meadow/woodland is on your left where the "woodlands for sale" sign is.

Just after this take the first left turn at Summerdown Cross, follow the road down until a sharp right hand bend where you will see a track that carries straight on. Pull onto this track and park in the gateway where you see the "woodlands for sale" sign. Bloomey Down Wood is just on the left through the gateway.
