Coed Carnedd - Almost 5 acres, £19,000

Coed Carnedd

Coed Carnedd is a mixed woodland of a size that could be easily managed. Growing on the side of the Mawddach valley, the woodland contains a good mix of trees, including much mature Douglas fir, pine, other conifers and a variety of native broadleaf trees such as oak, ash and birch.

The woodland has good access from the main road to a large parking area:  from here the lower track provides access to the wood through its own private entrance.  A second track provides access to the upper boundary and to a large level area that has views over the estuary and would make an ideal camping area that can informally be used by the new owner for woodland activities.

Those interested in managing the woodland for conservation should note that there is some rhododendron in the wood, particularly along the road boundary and edges of the lower track.  Grants for Rhododendron management may be available from the Snowdonia Park Authority or the Forestry Commission.

The woodland is located in a particularly beautiful part of Wales. The Mawddach estuary is famous for its scenery and natural beauty.  The area provides many opportunities for relaxation and leisure. The beach towns of Barmouth and Fairbourne are nearby and there are several RSPB nature reserves in the area. The Mawddach trail is popular with walkers and cyclists and the mountain biking centre at Coed-y-Brenin is only a few miles away.  There are extensive hiking opportunities in the surrounding National Park.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
