Sisters Wood - 5½ acres, £39,000

Sisters Wood

Sisters Wood is open and sunny, although it has many tall oak and ash trees. The hazel beneath was coppiced about three years ago, and now hidden wild flowers are getting a chance to bloom again. There are early purple and common spotted orchids, with possibly a greater orchid density than in the surrounding woods. The open aspect also means it has a fine view over the adjoining farmland. It is in a Site of Nature Conservation Importance, and in recent years the numbers and variety of butterflies have been growing. A survey a few years ago found 22 species of birds in this and surrounding woodland. This ancient semi-natural woodland is a treasure for any nature lover.

The owner of Sisters Wood will have rights of way along tracks ABGJ and GKL.

The purchasers of the woodland will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
