Community Woodlands Projects

One of our main aims at Woodlands.co.uk is to get more people into woodlands, including those people and groups who can't afford to buy their own wood. For the last 2 years we have been running a community woodlands project and in that space of time we have had more than 500 requests from people who wish to use woodlands for activities involving the local community. We now have people who use our woods for children's groups, scouts, forest schools, social forestry, bushcraft courses, woodlands management demonstrations, off-road horse riding organisations, orienteering and coppicing.

As we have received such a large number of enquiries, we have decided to set up a forum to put community groups in touch with other woodland owners who would be interested in allowing their woodland to be used in this way.

South Hampshire

Hi, We are looking for a woodland to hold our wedding reception in next summer (June or July 2013). No need for the owner to do anything, we will sort out the bell tent, toilets, clean up, etc) It will be a Saturday evening and access to the site for the whole weekend would be good. Alternatively, being able to rent the site for a few months/weeks prior to the wedding would be very handy and will enable us to set up slowly. Thank you! More details

Hello there, i am looking for a piece of woodland to carry out pest control, ie: Rabbits, Pigeons, Squirrels and to zero my rifle, as i am a qualified Deer stalker. Any land considerd, can pay for an annual lease or maintain fences or carry out any other work as payment, all rules respected and there will never be any damage to your property. I would report any activity on your land, its nice to have someone check your land on a regular basis. Most courses are weekends but I also run weeklong experiences. As a small company, these are still fairly sporadic throughout the year.
