I am a skilled lumberjack on the side of doing videography work and i would like to comment by saying after seeing this it is time for a good stiff blade and have something like this 36 inches long for bigger cuts and this is a good blade but it is not long enough to go after larger jobs.

Angus after reading your financial forecast 'Drifting' in 2006 & then kicking myself ever since for not heeding your warning. I searched your name on the tube to see if you had posted a financial video. I love the Woodlands films but could you please consider posting a follow up to 'Drifting' as I am considering taking advantage of what I believe to be a false recovery & selling my house in this short soon to be closing window. Your sage thoughts on this & Gerald Celente's views would be welcome

nice ~~ here in Taiwan, we just tape a saw to a bamboo pole: total cost, maybe US$4.
the voice of experience: when you are trimming branches, no matter where you stand, the sawdust falls into your eyes.

I totally agree that the silky saws are the best choice around. I go through 2 POLES a year but I keep buying new ones. I have about 15 blades sitting around waiting to be sharpened but I buy a new saw with a new pole so often 🙂

I use the thing for pulling hung up branches out of trees, and I wrench on it when it is extended to 24' if it keeps me from putting on my climbing harness. For the homeowner the saw is built heavy duty

You can use the lower hook to score the bottom of the branch collar so the bark wont tear and you can use the hook for the final stroke of the cut.

Way better saw than the telescoping chainsaws for $700…I own both.

Why not just make two cuts? One further out and then a finish cut with no branch load to tear the bark. I have pruned lots of very high branches by tying a cheap bow saw to a long pole. Very hard work but cost is almost nil. Any company which has been making such expensive saws, for 90 years (!) and still insists on using loose bolts for fixing the blade shouldn't still be in business! It is a complete joke!

Why not make two cuts? Depends how confident you are in your cutting skills and what kind of production you're trying to achieve. We do a lot of shaded fuel breaks around peoples homes, so we have to do very pretty cuts and do a lot of them so it helps to use the sharp hooks on the front and back of the saw blade.
