No the establishment is actually recognising that wild woodland is under direct threat from property development and the expansion of our cities and quite rightfully and thankfully have responded to prevent the expanding urban sprawl from completely taking over our countryside.
@Rufus Chucklebutty nah he's just a good for nothing sponge on society. Destroying his woodland because he feels he has more of a right to the space than the trees and wildlife in it.
M3ta7h3ad….Very true. But there should be a system in place that can differentiate between an individual purchasing say 5-10 acres of woodland and building an ecologically sound dwelling within certain strict parameters, and a huge construction company flattening the landscape and building a housing estate for nothing more than profit. Unfortunately there isn't.
Excellent idea.
Mmmmm, but it's fine if you're a multi million pound developer with tons of money to then by as much land as you can and then build thousands of homes on and then sell for huge profits. But no, here you can buy and acre of woodland for an insane amount of money and go camping 28 days a year????? We remind me again why people would buy your overpriced woodland? The planning laws are rediculous and it's fine for when Tesco want to build a huge store infront of my house or bovis homes want to build 1000 new builds or a new high speed railway needs erecting across the country but when someone wants to build an eco cabin in THIER woods they can't….. Great Britain. But you can go and get a mortgage for 30years for 300 grand to buy your 1 bed flat to keep this insane property bubble going to make the wealthy even more rich!
I understand the reasons behind the laws but surely they have to have some leanience if you wish to live a low impact lifestyle on your land
our government sucks, this is depressing and has ruined my dreams 🙁
You cant live on your woods ?? What the hell kinda country is that ?
True. With )€ws we lose.
@VolunteerEMS difference is.
America has a lot of unpopulated land.
The UK woodlands are under threat from urban expansion and property developers.
Over here the protections surrounding woodlands are perfectly justified unless you love seeing nothing but tarmacadam and skyscrapers.
