"Some refer to women as birds."
At 00:31, I winced at his muzzle discipline (poor fellow downrange, even with presumed bird loads in the gun, who could get something if the trigger work is not maintained). Otherwise, I really enjoyed the honesty these chaps had about their sport. Very common method of hunting in the US and Canada. You understand life better than when you get your meat sanitized and wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
How ironic , they are celebrating being alive whilst shooting birds
What a beautiful video, what I liked the best was seeing the pheasant slowly dieing in complete agony! Show more like this its nice to see how the other half entertain themselves. Steve.
Liked this a lot. An earthy, atmospheric film. Loved the picker -upper. :):). Good lad. x
Good to see the armchair judges out in full force. Same people who buy their meat wrapped neatly in plastic from the supermarket without a thought for the life or ultimate end of the animal they're eating. The cattle, pigs, and sheep that are reared in entirely unnatural domesticated circumstances, fed hormones and chemicals, then herded into slaughter houses for a bolt through the head or a slash of the knife (or worse if its halal). At least most game animals have an entirely free existence up to the point of being shot. More than you can say for the animals most people's dinners com from. You folk might do well to consider that before passing such high and might judgment next time.
I love how so many people get their panties in a wad over this. It's no different than going for a weekend of fishing.
Whilst this is favourable to a short, chemical filled and boxed in life before a dreadful death I still surprisingly find myself a touch upset by the visual of that gorgeous and obviously shocked bird. I know not every shot is perfect and that is the reality of the matter. The redeeming fact remains that non of them are wasted and they've led a largely fantastic life. I have considered taking up hunting for the table but I think I'll be following the likes of +MCQBushcraft lead rather than this sporting approach.
Thanks to all the folk featured for sharing your day with us and to the team who put this episode together 🙂
I'm vegetarian.
That was an interesting video. That pheasant on the ground provoked quite a lot of thought.
I never pheasant shot myself like this, I do eat them though if I can get them.
Thanks for the video.
