Tractors and Trees

Here we see Stuart Brooking, Devon area manager for http://www.woodlands.co.uk, working with Jim and Simon to manage some windblown spruce trees that are blocking a woodland track. This work is carried out for safety reasons, to renew access through the woodland and to allow use of the timber as firewood before the trees start to rot. We learn about the various stages involved in the extraction process, the different equipment used and the safety precautions necessary when working with the 27hp tractor and 3.5 tonne winch - which can get in between the trees. The larger tractor then takes over to pull the logs to a central point, ready to clear from the woodland. http://www.haldontreeservices.co.uk/ An Adliberate film http://www.adliberate.co.uk for WoodlandsTV http://www.woodlands.co.uk/tv

Interesting. Keep up the good work Woodlands TV!
Good vid.
jobs I'd love to do but no one round you has them on offer … smashing video… very jealous!
Nice to see the trees being harvested. The boneheads in charge of the forest services here in the USA believe in letting them go to rot as some silly cycle of life philosophy.
bad tractor !! the best is fiatagri
I just pull em out with truck. 2/3 at a time.
Nope, the best are John Deere, Fendt and Zetor.
