Beavers and Biodiversity

Did you know that beavers have a ripple effect on the biodiversity of their habitat? The way they change and manage the landscape creates a haven for wildlife and the ecosystem as a whole, including small mammals, birds of prey, plants, trees and lichens, invertebrates and water-dwellers. Thanks again to Louise Ramsay and the Bamff Estate in Perthshire.

More beavers !
'nature knows best'
Amazing that we built Canada from the beaver. Queen still gets two elk when she visits. That was the deal.Good eating and very destructive animals. Amazing fur.
Is there any scientific evidence contributing to the local fish populations when Beavers are introduced in these habitats
We are blessed to have beavers in our creek. When the big dam was intact, it presented calm pools that supported trout and salmon. Unfortunately, a major atmospheric river and three days of heavy rain washed the dam away. But for that time, we put up with some tree loss and enjoyed what it brought to our part of the creek.
They are good eating – but they give me Gas !
Interesting, I agree, beavers are great.
Any negatives?
Another superb video about this crucial animal. Thank you.
