By woodlandstv
Slow connection? Watch in lower quality
Have you ever wanted to leave it all behind and live simply in a hut the woods? That's exactly what author and retired priest Willy Slavin has done, on the Falkland Estate in Fife. WoodlandsTV went to visit and find out what it's all about. Willy's memoir is called Life is not a Long Quiet River, published by Birlin.

Absolutely brilliant!
Wonderful.

What a great bloke! I'd love to live that way. I've been on a few outdoor courses – making willow structures for the garden, wild cordage and green woodworking – that's when I realised I'd be happy with a shed in a wood. I think I've always known it to be honest. Now trying to find some affordable land to haul myself out of the system.
Well fancy seeing you here
A modern Hermit in his Hermitage.
I was thinking the same, that's a nice surprise!
That would suit me down to the ground. He also seems like genuine, irreverent, lovely kind of man.
What's it all about?
I have no idea!
