In this film by Tom Hartwell, we meet Key Habitats Officer Megan Gimber who works for the People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES). Megan explains management techniques to ensure you have a healthy hedgerow: not cutting a hedge every year; incremental trimming; rejuvenation by coppicing and laying; and by incorporating tall trees.

This is part one of a two-part series. In part two in spring time we will see how these management techniques have benefitted the health of the hedgerow.
