A woodland birthday
Soft play, football or bouncy castles are the usual birthday party options but not for Mrs Hawkins and her five year old son. They recently attended a Robin Hood birthday party at Beeley Wood in Oughtibridge organised by Growing Wild. During their two hour adventure, the children enjoyed hunting for treasure, making bows and arrows and cooking sausages on an open fire.
Leaving the modern world behind, the group of nine boys explored the woodland, got covered in mud and enjoyed the freedom the wood had to offer, enjoying experiences many children now miss out on.
The party finished with a cake and turns on a rope swing to make this birthday party one to remember thanks to Woodlands.co.uk who allow the use of their wood for the parties.

It’s so lovely to see young children have fun in the woods and do what they know best: keep active. I bet the party was cheaper than taking them to the cinema.
